The Hanson House won the Breadwinner Award of the state wheat commission in 1996--I suppose for those popovers everybody raves about. (I'm more of a biscuit guy.) The restaurant is well-appointed, the service is excellent, and the fare is unusually good, including pasta dishes. This is an unusual establishment for the plains--a supper club that is not just a steakhouse.--TI 8/28/99
 Over the past several years I've had occasion to drop into the Hanson House several times when I wasn't looking for a full dinner, but just a burger and a beer, and I've found the bar and grill on the east side of the establishment to be a comfortable place with good burgers and friendly reception.--TI 12/23/05
